Luxembourg’s annual inflation rate stood at 2.2% in August 2026, unchanged from the pace recorded in the previous two months. Price growth remained stable for education (6.2%) and for information and communication (0.9%) compared with July.

Inflation accelerated in several categories, including personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services (2.1% vs 0.5% previously), transport (5.3% vs 4.0%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4% vs 1.3%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.5% vs 0.3%), and insurance and financial services (0.9% vs 0.8%).

By contrast, price pressures eased in housing and utilities (0.5% vs 2.2%), clothing and footwear (1.0% vs 2.5%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.0% vs 2.2%), health (1.8% vs 2.2%), recreation, sport and culture (1.5% vs 2.2%), and restaurants and hotels (3.2% vs 3.5%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 1.2% in August, rebounding from a 0.5% decline in July and marking the strongest monthly increase in four months.
